Ok, I’m going to let you all in on a little secret, DecoRug has an amazing range of on trend rugs in various sizes and absolutely great prices. I’ve worked with lots of rug retailers and these guys are truly doing great things.
Surprisingly, a rug can transform a room – but you need to get the basics right first. Here’s few tips:
- Make sure the rug is big enough for the space. The most common size is 2m x 3m, I use this size in almost all living spaces. I like to sit the furniture on the rug. That means couch legs on the rug. So take the time to measure your space (or visit me here at Nunawading Homemaker HQ and I’ll help you select the right size👌 for your space).
- Contrast is key, if you have a dark sofa, it’s best to go for a lighter rug and vice versa. This helps define the space. Currently my absolute favourite is the ARGYLE range at DecoRug. It’s versatile, stylish and on trend.
- I love to use cow hides, especially in small spaces or living spaces that are irregular in size. The help define the space and can look pretty groovy. Consider a cow hide when space is at a premium and you don’t have the traditional rectangular or square shaped living space.
If all that sounds too hard, then book a free 40min Home Interiors Styling one on one with me and I’ll happily show you some of my favourites at Nunawading Homemaker HQ!
So many cushions, so little time! I am constantly blown away with what a cushion can do to a space. I always let the artwork in a room dictate the colour of my cushions. I prefer feather filled and I like to mix textures and be less predictable than predictable, I find it always adds interest to a space. So the keys here is not to be to matchy matchy.
Again, this is where I can take all the guess work out of your selections, come and say hi 👋🏻 I really love helping people get their spaces right, book a consultation and we can chat over a coffee.
See you soon at HQ!
